AID 101: David Archuleta

Because I haven’t posted in a while, and because the whole world now knows I’m in love with David James Porkchop Archuleta, and because I simply can,

I shall analyze David’s stunning performance this week.

00:04: See when she hugs him and his hands are totally flaccid beside him? He’s in complete shock.

00:10: And yet he manages to come up with a witty little gem like that.

00:13: “I listen to your music a lot.” Need I say more?

00:14: Woo, woo. And he does the hand-bowing thingy. So. Cute.

00:15: Mariah? WE love you. Proving to be the major diva that she is.

00:20: It seems like through her amazing and far-reaching wisdom, she couldn’t think of the right adjective to use. “Moving” sounded almost euphemistic.

00:24: His singing into the camera sounds a lot better than into the mike. Less muffled. And you can see how pure his voice really is. I mean you can hear.

00:35: How he just does that falsetto when she asked him to? OMGWTFBBQ. Someone smack me now.

00:37 - 00:40: He’s actually quite eloquent when he’s not all shy and giggly. Very schmexy.

00:59 & 01:02: You can tell he’s actually singing because his ‘P’s push air into the mike. Not very obvious for the other contestants, but then again this may not necessarily be a good thing either.

01:18: Love the thrill. Everything up to this point has been amazing.

01:19: I believe a semitone flat.

01:32: Smoky eyes! He gives that look that makes you want to faint. Ok, it makes me want to faint.

01:41: He ran out of breathe on the last note that, careful now David.

01:47: Something I noticed about a lot of his performances. I’m not sure if it’s a style, or it’s a problem. But it sounds to me like he didn’t have enough air to make the note.

01:57: This is the problem that Mariah talked about. He was thinking the song. He thought he couldn’t reach the note so he held back. If he had just went for it it wouldn’t sound like his throat tightened.

02:09: The grunt. Gotta love the grunt.

02:17 - 02:20: The falsetto. I think he over thought this one again. But he did manage to pull it off, though too softly. Also, ran out of air on the last note again.

02:26: See how his head sorta bobs downwards with the notes? That’s so adorable.

Other notes: Love the hair, the shirt and the LEATHER PANTS. Not liking the shoes very much though. But ah well, I guess he’s so hot anything looks good on him. This boy is getting hotter and hotter every week. Even when we didn’t think it was possible.
